​Hall of Residence 1, established since 1957, is the biggest and the oldest hall of residence in Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

​

Hall 1 can accomodate a maximum of 624 residents, with a total of 428 suite-style single and double rooms. Hall 1 is known for having the largest and most spacious rooms among all the NTU halls. Each room comes with an attached bathroom that is shared with the adjacent room, providing residents with convenience and privacy.

​

​Located near the entrance of NTU, Hall 1 is only 10 minutes away from the NTU Main Campus as well as the Sports and Recreational Centre (SRC) by foot. For those who prefer to travel in comfort, Hall 1 is also accessible by SBS bus 179 (from Boon Lay Bus Interchange) and NTU's internal shuttle bus services Campus Rider, Campus Loop-Blue and Campus Weekend Rider.

​There is never a lack of fun for residents in Hall 1. With vibrant and holistic activities, residents will definitely find something of interest to enhance their campus life. Hall 1 residents participate actively in the 20 sports organized during the Inter-Hall Games. The Hall 1 Cheerleading team and Dance crew are also widely acclaimed as the best in NTU, winning countless awards and achievements. For those into Performing Arts and Community Involvement, there are plenty of meaningful activities to participate in as well.
