Activities in Hall 1

During each academic year, the JCRC and Main Committees organise plenty of activities and events that are suitable for everyone. With the host of activities and events, the residents can take some time off their studies to experience the local social and cultural celebrations and enjoy the company of fellow residents. Through these initiatives, residents have opportunities to engage in social interactions with fellow residents that will add colour to their campus experience.

​Voila-ween

Voila-ween, an annual talent-time coinciding with Halloween, sees our residents coming down to perform and showcase their talent in song, dance and about anything and everything else. Residents gamely came down dressed in their spookiest and kookiest outfits - Japanese samurais brandishing their bloody swords, the infamous Joker, ghoulish zombie Chinese emperors, and even fairy wannabes. With all that crazy costumes and decorations around the venue, cameras were flashing all night!

​Hall Olympiad Games

The Hall Olympiad Games is an annual sporting and recreational game events that happen throughout the period of December till February. Residents will spend most of their semester break in December training up for the day when they pit their skills in sports and recreational games against players from all 16 hall of residences in NTU. This is the only event where residents from all hall will have a chance to interact with each other in the spirit of friendly competition. It is also a period of sportsmanship and camaraderie amongst fellow residents.

The Hall Olympiad Games consists of the Inter-Hall Games (Sports & Recreational Games), the Inter-Hall Cheerleading Competition and the Inter-Hall Dance Competition.


​Night Cycling

Night Cycling had us experiencing the beauty of Singapore from a different perspective, on an exhilarating ride from Changi Beach to Marina Barrage and back to East Coast Park. Rest stops along the way allowed for photo taking, lively conversation and games, encouraging interaction and bonding among the participants. Challenging as the route may be for some, it was still a memorable experience for all.
